Brian’s practice revolves around insurance claims, wills and estates, property matters, corporate law, and the mining and gas industries. Brian is a graduate of Marshall University with a B.A. in psychology. He earned his law degree from the West Virginia University College of Law in 2004 and he is admitted to practice before the West Virginia Supreme Court of Appeals and the United States District Court for the Southern District of West Virginia. While in law school, Brian was a student-attorney in the WVU College of Law Clinical Law Program, a program for indigent individuals in need of legal assistance. Prior to joining Shaffer & Shaffer, Brian served as law clerk to the Honorable Eric H. O’Briant, Judge of the 7th judicial circuit of West Virginia. Brian practices in our Madison office. Brian was born in Logan, WV and currently lives in South Charleston, WV with his wife, Courtney, and their three children.
